Choosing the right FortiGate
Sizing is where most deployments go wrong. Too small and you disable inspection to keep throughput; too large and you have paid for headroom you will never use. We size against your actual traffic profile, not a datasheet maximum.
The range runs from entry-level appliances for a branch to chassis systems for a data centre core:
- Entry-level — FortiGate 30G, 40F, 50G, 60F, 70F. Branch offices and small sites. See the entry-level series.

Is P J Networks an authorised Fortinet partner in India?
Yes. We are an authorised Fortinet reseller and a Fortinet MSSP Level Partner, with NSE-certified engineers on staff. All hardware is sourced through authorised channels and carries full manufacturer warranty, and we handle warranty claims and RMA on your behalf. We have been securing Indian enterprises since 2002.
What does MSSP Level Partner mean, and why does it matter?
Fortinet’s MSSP programme is a separate tier from ordinary reselling. It exists for partners who operate the technology as a managed service, so it covers multi-tenancy, centralised management and analytics, bulk deployment, comprehensive automation and orchestration, and custom reporting. In practice it means we are equipped to run your firewalls as a service rather than hand you an appliance and an invoice.
Can you manage FortiGate firewalls we already own?
Yes, and it is one of the most common things we are asked to do. We will audit the existing configuration and rule base first — in most estates we find redundant rules, any-any permits left over from a migration, and inspection profiles that were never switched on — then take over monitoring and change management from our NOC and SOC. You do not need to buy new hardware to move to a managed model.
What is the Fortinet Security Fabric in plain terms?
It is the mechanism that lets Fortinet products share what they see. The firewall, the switch, the access point, the endpoint agent and FortiGuard’s threat intelligence feed into a common view, so a threat detected at one point becomes a blocked threat everywhere else automatically. Without it you own several good products that cannot talk to each other.
Do you only sell Fortinet?
No. We are vendor-neutral by choice and also partner with Cisco, Dell, Aruba, Check Point, Sophos, Netskope and Trellix. Fortinet is what we recommend most often for consolidated security at the edge, but the recommendation follows the requirement. If Fortinet is the wrong fit we will say so.
Do you rent Fortinet firewalls?
Yes — for projects, audits, short-term sites and proof-of-concept work, renting is often the sensible commercial answer. See firewall on rent, or managed firewall services if you want the appliance and the operation together.
