UCS, HyperFlex or FlexPod — how do we choose?
UCS is the compute foundation with unified management. HyperFlex collapses compute, storage and networking into one hyperconverged platform, which suits teams who want fewer moving parts. FlexPod is the validated Cisco-plus-NetApp design, which suits organisations that want a reference architecture signed off by both vendors. The deciding factor is usually how much storage expertise you have in-house.
Does ACI make sense for a single data centre?
Sometimes, but not always. ACI earns its complexity when you need consistent policy across multiple sites or into cloud. For a single site with a stable application set, a well-designed Nexus fabric without ACI is often the better value, and we will say so.
Can this support AI workloads?
Yes — UCS with GPU acceleration handles training and inference, and the fabric matters as much as the compute for keeping GPUs fed. If you are comparing against Dell, see the Dell AI Factory approach; we deploy both.
